New Mandolin Pictures and Video coming.............
Redwood Two-Point Special #01305 (SOLD)
With side port and bolt on neck, KTM-9 waterborne finish, Redwood front, Rosewood head stock and fretboard, quilted maple back, Nickel Silver tailpiece, Grover tuners, and a tweed hard-shell case. This redwood-topped mandolin has a very beautiful rich sound. The warmth of the wood comes through the music you play on it. The finish is simple and clear to let the beautiful redwood patina develop over the years. Great music is destined to come out of these redwood instruments, perhaps oriented toward Jazz or Classical or even Old Time music. I'm especially excited to make a Redwood mandolin with an oval sound hole, which should be amazing.Engelmann Spruce Two-Point Special #01307 (SOLD)
With side port and bolt on neck, KTM-9 waterborne finish, Engelmann Spruce front, Ebony head stock and fretboard, quilted maple back, Nickel Silver tailpiece, Grover tuners, and a tweed hard-shell case. This is a very elegant instrument. The clear finish really shows off the Engelmann and the black sides, Ebony head stock and fretboard and the Nickel Silver tailpiece all join together to make a very striking mandolin.Sitka Spruce Two-Point Special #01304 (sold)
With side port and bolt on neck, KTM-9 waterborne finish, Sitka Spruce front, Ebony head stock and fretboard, Quilted maple back, Nickel Silver tailpiece, Grover tuners, and a tweed hard-shell case. Similar to the mandolin above but with the slightly harder and warmer colored Sitka Spruce for the top. A real player.Douglas Fir "Firewood" Two-Point Special #01306
With side port and bolt on neck, KTM-9 waterborne finish, Doug Fir front, Rosewood head stock and fretboard, Quilted maple back, Nickel Silver tailpiece, Grover tuners, and a tweed hard-shell case. On this one I did a nice subtle burst out to a subdued orange on the front, with a simple burst on the maple back as well. The neck is a "fiddle" grain all the way with a deep amber burst at the ends.... beautiful wood and beautiful sound.E-mail me directly if you are interested in any of these mandolins — I'll be putting up pictures of the new instruments soon. sam@albrightmandolins.com
